Which metrotherapy is better

It is important for the buyer choosing the roof to imagine which metal tile is better? Expert reviews come down to three simple selection criteria that you need to remember:

  • Quality and thickness of the base steel sheet;
  • Mark and thickness of protective layers;
  • Appearance.

Conventionally, the metal tile differs in three levels of quality:

1. For the production of the best metal tiles, alloyed hot-dip galvanized steel is used. Qualitative profile. Example Finnish Grand Line. The unique material of tomorrow - the pural, provides a high-quality protective coating.

2. Steel for medium-sized metal tiles is less durable. The rest is solid durable material. Russian manufacturer Interprofil. The protective layer is pural or polyester.

3. The most common metal tile economy class. Thin sheet steel, easily deformed, the protective coating is easily broken, so that when laying and unloading it is necessary to carefully handle the sheets.

Metal - the optimal coating for the roof of the cottage
A comment
They covered the roof of the house with metal tiles seven years ago, when they just bought it. Other coatings were not even considered, as professionals highly recommended this material. Already then there was a large selection of colors and shapes, they chose the classic dark red color. Since then, the roof has not even been remembered - the metal tile isn’t afraid of any problems at all, although during that time a lot of snow fell (whole snowdrifts were on the roof), there was hail, a hurricane wind.

When buying material, they took it with a margin, just in case. For two years, the remains stood in the garage, and then we used them to cover the gazebo. Last year, they built a bathhouse and a barn, easily picked up a metal tile of the same style and with the same pattern, even the tone does not differ. Now we have a house and a courtyard in the same style.
The only thing that bothers you a bit is when it rains heavily, you can clearly hear him knocking on the roof. Our attic is non-residential, so this is not a problem. Especially bearing in mind the exceptional wear resistance of the material.
pros
Wear resistance
Attractive appearance of the roof
Ability to choose colors and the type of "waves"
Easy installation
Minuses
The sound of rain is heard, a rather big cost
Term of use
more than one year

Metal tile RUUKKI came up to us
A comment
For the conversion of the roof of a private house, we chose a metal tile. They wanted to take cheap Russian, but they dissuaded us.It does not always have the same thickness, which often leads to skew. Russian versions of such a roof often change color. Relatives who covered their house with such a metal roof, strongly recommended abandoning it.

We doubted for a long time, but, as a result of viewing the flaws of their roof, we decided to take an import one after all. The metal roofing RUUKKI came up to us. Yes, indeed, Finnish quality speaks for itself. The dimensions and thickness of the sheets, their uniform color, the quality of the coating, are impeccable. A special coating gives the surface of the sheets special strength, effectively protecting them from scratches and corrosion.

Such sheets are not afraid of the effects of snow and rain, hail, icing, has a persistent color that does not change with time. And, although our new RUUKKI roof did not stand for very long (just over 1 year), absolutely no changes were noticed. Roofing RUUKKI has excellent quality.
pros
Does not change color, protects the house well, has the same thickness, withstands the effects of snow, hail, rain, icing
Minuses
One minus is its expensive price (we still pay a loan).
Term of use
more than three years

The roof is really reliable and well protected from moisture.
A comment
In our modern and wonderful time, manufacturers of metal tiles correctly confirm the quality of their products. Based on my experience of roofing, I want to express my opinion for the sake of clarity. In private (and not only) construction, galvanized sheet steel as a roofing material has long been used with great desire and confidence. Our grandfathers noticed that by covering the roof of their house with galvanizing, you can not be afraid of hail. Steel teams of tinsmiths that specialized specifically in metal roofs were formed. Only after a while, galvanizing faded and began to rust.

And there was a way out - the owners themselves began to paint the roofs. Painting was done every two years. And even then people dreamed that the factories themselves immediately painted galvanized sheets. So it turns out that thanks to the development of various innovations in our industry, people got what they dreamed about.

A metal tile is galvanized with a protective layer of polymer coating on both sides of the sheet. Yes, and with a big plus of stiffeners. Waves are not only beautiful, but also reliable stiffeners. And for the screws with a washer and rubber gasket in general, many thanks! Fixing a sheet of metal on the roof is not a big deal. Previously, in order to reliably connect two galvanized sheets, it was necessary to bend a special lock. Such locks could only be done by tinsmiths.
pros
Easy to mount, decent moisture protection
Minuses
The only minus in the metal tile - you can not bend the sheets. The protective coating may be damaged.

more than five years
