Laminate is pith

The cork floating floor "Cork" pleases us.

They began to make repairs in the kitchen and decided to divide the floor into two zones. In the first zone - preparations, write to put a tile on the floor, and in the second - a dinner cork.
First, the floor was leveled, then porcelain tiles were laid, and then they started the cork from Cork. This cork is identical in size to the laminate, the mechanism is clickable, which at times facilitates installation. First you need to lay the substrate, and then lay the cork sheets.

The top layer of the cork is made of natural veneer, on top it is coated with water-based varnish. Due to what such a floor is not afraid of water. The floor is not slippery at all, it is resistant to scratches, nothing remains from the chairs and legs of the table. In addition, such a floor is warm, I’m now thinking of persuading my spouse to lay a cork in a child’s son, still natural material and also pleasant to the touch, which can be more important for a child.
pros
Moisture-proof, warm, soft, non-slippery, scratch resistant.

Satisfied with Champagne Wicanders cork laminate
A comment
We bought an apartment with a rough finish. They thought over and carried out repairs on their own, it was decided to put a cork on the floor. The flooring was taken with a Champagne shade from Wicanders, plus they bought a cork skirting board in color.

Laying was carried out in a floating way, it is pleasant to walk on such a floor and for the most part it suits.

- the coating is afraid of water;
- it is necessary to withstand a couple of days in the apartment a traffic jam, otherwise the joints after installation will be visible;
- the coating requires a careful attitude, scratches may appear, since the texture is soft.
pros
- environmental friendliness;
- sound absorption;
- pleasant to the touch coating and soft;
- warm, for families with children relevant;
- hypoallergenic;
- able to remove the level of harmful radiation;
- looks good;
- the cost is acceptable;
- A wide selection of shades and patterns.

Excellent material for covering the floor of the whole apartment!
A comment
I had a chance to read negative reviews about cork laminate.

In my apartment, in all the rooms there is a cork laminate. During operation with a cork laminate, NOTHING bad happened. The seams remained intact, the varnish did not think to crack or swell. This is a great cover. Initially, my wife opposed laying the “cork”, but now she says that this coating is the best for her.

The wife washes the floor of the apartment with plain water, a rag and a mop.The floor covering is quickly washed away, therefore there can be no talk of its “stinginess”. Even if there is a slippery, oily, greasy stain on the cork, it will quickly wash off.
pros
from contact with water, the varnish does not deteriorate, the seams do not diverge, even greasy stains are washed.
Minuses
are absent.

Bad for prolonged use in the kitchen and in the hallway.
A comment
In my apartment, in the kitchen and in the hallway, a cork laminate is laid. I won’t do such a floor in the kitchen anymore. In the kitchen, increased humidity - you often have to wash the floor, and this adversely affects the seams. The apartment corridor is clean because my family members take off their shoes in the driveway. So the cork laminate of the corridor suits me. If it were necessary to remove shoes in the corridor of the apartment, then the cork would quickly become "worn out".

“Cork” is a soft coating, I was convinced of it. The cat sometimes quickly runs around the apartment and often puts it on turns, this causes micro-scratches on the floor. So, in resistance the “cork” is inferior to a plastic laminate. However, it wins in comfort. I don’t put any rugs on the floor, but warm feet. Yes, and my baby often falls to the floor, but does not show signs of severe bruises. Dirt and dust on the "cork" is not particularly noticeable.
pros
no dirt and dust visible, warm, soft.
Minuses
microzaramins and dents appear, deteriorates from moisture, "arises" from contact with solid objects.

Our experience in cork flooring
A comment
We chose the flooring in the kitchen: we decided between the tile and the cork. The choice settled on the latter. Having decided that the dishes are beating on the tile, and even with a terrible sound. In addition, tile is cold material.

We bought cork laminate at a local store, the choice was made by the Portuguese manufacturer Wicanders. It was attracted by the fact that the material is environmentally friendly, natural, warm, hypoallergenic (suitable for patients with asthma), quiet, pleasant to the touch. Also, if desired, the cork floor can be painted. In general, it is difficult to convey our joy! Cork is also suitable for pet owners. Since it is varnished and neither the dog nor the cat leaves claw marks, this is important for us - we have a playful dachshund.

When choosing a cork, note that it happens with a lock and adhesive. The first one, like a laminate, also has some of its drawbacks, if water gets into the “castle”, it can swell, while the glue plug is not afraid of anything, including water.
pros
With the cork floor it has become much warmer, now I can easily walk barefoot, which is extremely important for me (I have flat feet - my feet don’t freeze), a large selection of colors, affordable price, there is a budget series.
